Description
Comics, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Cereal was a Winning Combo, Back In The Early Nineties
Great Googly Moogly!!!
Published in 1989 and packaged inside Ralston Purina Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cereal, described variously as “crunchy, sweetened ‘ninja nets’ with ‘ninja turtle’ marshmallows”, these mini comic booklets were super popular and today are a collectible that any 1980s era TMNT fan loves to have in their collection and remembers from their childhood.
All three comics in the series were written and drawn by Peter Laird, and these comics would feature the first appearances of Wingnut and Man Ray. The two characters appeared in these mini comics months before showing up in the Archie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures series.
Each issue was only the size of a trading card, with each of the “pages” being just one panel. In the first issue, Baxter Stockman has already been mutated into a humanoid fly.
These awesome mini comics were sent directly to Mirage Studios (Publishers of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and have been housed in the Personal Collections of Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman, the co-creators of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles since then. Protected from light and saved in flat files for decades this set of all three mini comics is accompanied by a Signed Certificate of Authenticity with a Hologram Label of Provenance.
Each mini comic and the Signed COA are packaged in an individual 3″ x 4″ Ultra PRO Toploader
