Designed by Kevin the Classic Red Bandana front features Kevin’s original art, a classic TMNT pose and a nod to the cover of the first issue. Shellebrating 40 years of Turtle Mania the antiqued plated silver back features his signature and classic TMNT head sketch remarque. This commemorative piece is housed in a removable coin capsule.

An historical New Hampshire State marker will be unveiled on Central Avenue, followed by the unveiling of a decorative manhole cover on Union Street where my dear pal Peter Laird and I lived when we created the TMNT comic book in 1983.
The events will be held at 28 Union Street beginning at 11:30am and mark the 40th anniversary of the creation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the 400th anniversary of Dover – COWABUNGA!!!

These awesome commemorations are made possible by Dover resident and all around nice guy James Lane who launched an Indiegogo campaign earlier this year to sponsor the construction of a decorative manhole cover and even asked me to create the design.

Also integral in these shellebrations are Griffin Hansen of the Animation Education Association who spearheaded the idea for the State marker, the Dover Arts Commission, the city’s Planning Department, and the New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources.
The great folks from Jetpack Comics Comics in nearby Rochester and Leith Karate will be on hand with free comics and info. for attendees (while supplies last).
