What an incredible start!

55% funded in 7 days with $41K of our $75K goal raised so far! I’ve never seen a campaign start so strong! We are absolutely humbled and incredibly appreciative once again of all your support.

We assumed you’re all the HARDCORE friends and fans and have been seeing our billions of social media posts, so we wanted to give you the weekend before hitting you with an update email. But here we are on Monday morning and the race to the goal continues!

As you’ve probably realized, social media platforms like Facebook thrive on hiding posts with links and especially Kickstarter shares – They want people to pony up and buy sponsored ads – So even though some of us our posting 400 times a day to try and make new people aware of DRAWING BLOOD VOLUME 2, often times it’s our same 60 friends that see those posts. So it’s crucial at this point in the campaign to try and get the project in front of NEW people and THEIR friend circles. So, any creative ideas you have for SHARING and getting the word out to new comic fans would be HUGELY appreciated. Every share helps. You wouldn’t believe how many people we received messages from after the DBV1 campaign who somehow had never knew it happened! So thank you in advance for doing all you can to get the word out about WWW.DRAWINGBLOODCOMIC.COM ,and helping us try to hit our goal early, and make this book a reality.

So what happens if we hit the goal early? I’ll tell you!

Once we hit the goal of $75K, that means DRAWING BLOOD VOLUME 2 is happening! That amount allows us the time and funding to create the book, order the printing, and ship them all to you!

Drawing Blood – Spilled Ink and the Radically Rearranged Ronin Ragdolls hit comic shops with enormously positive feedback from stores and customers alike.  Many stores ran out of stock pretty much immediately and are already going back to Diamond Distribution to place more orders.  Diamond have placed two reorders for these AWESOME books. We received so many AWESOME reviews for the story the art and the quality of the print job – the paper is of the utmost quality.

Below is an excerpt from a massive 4 page interview they conducted with me recently – this also includes a link to the catalog order codes for each of the Drawing Blood books AND the Radically Rearranged Ronin Ragdolls.

Excerpt follows: One evening in 1984, Kevin Eastman and friend Peter Laird brainstormed the idea of a team of martial arts turtles after Eastman sketched a turtle wearing a mask and wielding martial arts weapons. Drawing upon the comics of the past and the 1984-present, they created the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles… their homage to everything they liked about comics, including the works of Jack Kirby and more specifically, Frank Miller’s Daredevil.

35 years later, the TMNT (as their mile-long moniker was shortened to) are a worldwide phenomenon… toys, cartoons, live-action movies. And for their co-creator, Kevin Eastman, its been a long, strange, and wonderful trip indeed. Drawing upon his long history in the comics biz, and his own personal experiences shepherding the TMNT from cult indie sensation to household names, Kevin has launched his own publishing company, Kevin Eastman Studios, to tell his story… sort of…

And have you heard the news? Kevin Eastman Studios will soon be self-publishing Drawing Blood as a monthly comic! COOL BEANS!!!!!!!!!

Starting in May, Drawing Blood #1 AND the RRRR special origin one-shot will both be hitting your Local Comic Store (LCS) and ComiXology. DB #1 will be a reprint of the first chapter of the previously Kickstarter-only trade paperback, with the rest of the chapters coming out every month, and — do the math — that means by September you will be seeing NEW chapters of Drawing Blood previously available NOWHERE. David Avallone is already writing Drawing Blood issue #5 AND additional Ragdolls material, too! Kevin and Ben and Troy are champing at the bit to start drawing the all-new issues!
