Unique TMNT Licensing Rejection Collection – SOLD $80.00

Winning Bid: $71

Item condition: New

UPDATE – SOLD $80.00

This auction offers a truly one of a kind licensing proposal and rejection and provides insight into the inner workings of the licensing process at Mirage BUT from a collectors standpoint offers a unique, never produced collectible. Admittedly, there may be a matching set of right shoes still in a box somewhere in Italy – LOL.

In the summer of 1998, Saban Entertainment, Italy submitted these three adorable half pairs of kids sneakers to Mirage Licensing in Northampton, MA.  Saban and the manufacturer Stefcom were seeking permission for these to be licensed and produced for the European market.  The problem was that these each had the “Classic” Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles logo on the back. Mirage did not allow the classic logo to be used with newer Ninja Turtles artwork, the NINJA TURTLES logos were required instead. In August 1998 these were rejected by Mirage Licensing but retained in the licensing storage in Northampton.

A truly UNIQUE opportunity to add these to a vintage TMNT collection.

A set of three pairs of NINJA TURTLES logo socks is included too, just for fun.

We Guarantee that this Licensing Blunder comes from the personal collection of Kevin Eastman, co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and is shipped from his Northampton, Massachusetts studio.

Shipping will be calculated automatically at the conclusion of the auction based on the final shipping destination.

We ship twice weekly from Kevin Eastman Studios in Northampton. Massachusetts
